About us

A pub that has been part of this village since 1717.

The Unicorns Head sits at the heart of Langar, a small Nottinghamshire village in the Vale of Belvoir. The building is Grade II listed — the bones of it are over three hundred years old — and we've tried to honour that while making it a place that feels genuinely welcoming every day of the week.

Built in 1717. Grade II listed.

The pub has stood on Main Street, Langar since the early eighteenth century. The fireplaces are original, the beams are low, and the log burners do their job on cold Nottinghamshire evenings. It's a proper old building — and it feels like one.

Dogs welcome. Log burners lit. Fully accessible.

We're dog-friendly throughout the bar, cashless for a smoother visit, and the pub has full wheelchair access. Whether you're coming in for a pint or settling in for Sunday lunch, we've tried to make it work for everyone.

Friday is Fryday.

Every Friday we run a proper chippy tea alongside the main menu — battered fish, chips, the works. It's become a fixture for regulars. Served 12pm–2:30pm and 5pm–7pm, no booking needed.

Breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays.

From 9:30am at the weekend we serve a full breakfast menu — Full English, veggie breakfast, pastries, sourdough toast, eggs Benedict. A proper start, not an afterthought. Kitchen closes for breakfast at 11:30am.
